IV Therapy FAQ

Our specialty cocktails are infused with either 500cc or 1 liter of normal saline. Depending on the drip speed, the smaller bag takes approximately 30 minutes, and the larger takes 45 minutes to an hour. Some of the ingredients require a much slower delivery. For example, NAD can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. We invite you to fully relax and let us pamper you!

This depends on your own personal health, we would recommend once a week, but we have different plans to suit your needs. We offer the option of doing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly treatments. If you are coming in specifically because you have the onset of a cold, you need a boost of energy, or you are taking a long-haul flight, then coming in for one infusion is fine too.

Our staff is well trained in starting IVs and will do their best to help you feel comfortable. The needle we use is small and only penetrates the skin 1-2mm then the catheter is slipped down the needle into the vein, and the needle is withdrawn. This means that there is no needle in while the IV is being administered so moving around isn’t a problem.

This will vary for each individual due to differences in health status, metabolism, lifestyle, and diet. We have seen effects last anywhere from 1 week to a full month and longer.

IV is the quickest way of getting vitamins and minerals into our bodies so in most instances you can feel the effects by the time you finish your treatment.

Make sure you drink plenty of water before you come in for your appointment, this will ensure that your veins are pronounced and will make the catheter easier to insert.

As most insurance does not cover wellness services, we are an exclusively self-pay practice. You are welcome to use your HSA or FSA as a form of payment, and we accept all major credit cards. For medical services, we will be happy to provide a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement from your insurance carrier.

IV Therapy Testimonials

“Dr. Kimbi is a major part of my healthcare team,  and she has truly gone above and beyond to help me with my healing process. After a year of feeling burned-out and exhausted, she helped me get my energy level back with infusions and medical-grade supplements. And more recently, during a severe, acute injury, she was by my side. Dr, Kimbi is that person! She is so kind and nurturing, a true healer. I am so grateful for her and the “cutting-edge” science and medicine that she has brought to my healing process.”

Her passion for functional medicine began with her own health journey, seeking answers for hormonal imbalances and gut issues. From her first days in nursing school, she felt called to help others experience the same transformation through a root-cause approach to healing. Faith is committed to understanding each patient’s unique journey and believes true healing begins by uncovering the deeper meaning behind symptoms.

As the nurse at The Wellness Loft, she learns directly from Dr. Kimbi, Dr. Lyndsey, and Morgan while pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, specializing in Women’s Health. She looks forward to combining her clinical training and functional medicine experience as a nurse practitioner.
